Welcome to Luggage & Ladle For years, this blog was simply a place to collect and share favorite recipes. What started as a personal recipe archive gradually became something more. As my husband Blake and I traveled, I realized many of our adventures had one thing in common: food. We plan our travels around where to eat. Long before we book a hotel or decide which attractions to visit, we're researching local specialties, hidden gems, neighborhood restaurants, bakeries, markets, and can't-miss meals. Some of our favorite travel memories aren't landmarks or attractions. They're meals shared around a table. Many of the recipes you'll find here have a story behind them. Some are family favorites. Others were inspired by memorable meals we discovered while traveling and couldn't wait to recreate at home. That's how Luggage & Ladle was born. Hi, I'm Tammi!

My husband, Blake, and I plan our travels around where to eat. We often joke that vacation is just planning our next meal while we're eating the current one. 

Food has always been my favorite way to experience a place. From family recipes and home-cooked meals to hidden local gems discovered while traveling, I'm always searching for flavors worth remembering.

Whether it's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, a bustling farmers market, a beloved local bakery, or a family recipe passed down through generations, I believe food is one of the best ways to experience a place and connect with people.

Luggage & Ladle is where I share favorite recipes, restaurant discoveries, and food-inspired adventures from New Orleans and beyond. You'll find everything from comforting soups and family favorites to dishes inspired by memorable meals on the road.

Some travelers plan their trips around attractions. We plan ours around restaurant reservations, local specialties, and the meals we can't wait to try. Many of the recipes you'll find here began as an attempt to recreate something we loved while traveling.

Whether I'm recreating a memorable meal at home or exploring a new destination one bite at a time, I believe great conversations and lasting memories are often made around a shared table.
